Joint Projects
- The Academy of Visual Arts (AVA) joined the international arts moves (IAM) which is a network of international art schools and art academies. The aim of IAM is to give art students a real life experience by creating an intercultural exhibition project in the context of a professional exhibition space. At present, 23 art schools are partners of the IAM network. The activities of IAM consist of two main parts: an intensive workshop at home school to prepare students for the exhibition in Germany; and an exhibition at a real art space in Germany. AVA had participated in IAM for two rounds in 2012 and 2013.
- An Artist-in-residence programme is established at Kai Tak, Centre of Research and Development in Visual Arts to encourage cross-cultural and interdisciplinary research and/or practice in the visual arts. Artists who were invited in 2014 to deliver workshops and seminars include: Prof John Hilliard (who has hosted two workshops to create works together with the BA and MVA students, and conducted research seminars with academic/teaching staff and research postgraduate students in March 2014), Mr Karem Ibrahim (June 2014), and Ms Lilah Fowler and Mr Chris Fite-Wassilak (August-September 2014).
